As the holidays approach, we are entering a season that — for many of us, I think — involves more ritual than the rest of the year does…
The carving of a Thanksgiving turkey and sharing gratitudes around the table…
“Decking the halls” of your home with festive greenery, ornaments, etc….
Lighting candles to remember moments of wonder or kindle feelings of hope….
Counting down together to a new beginning….
And probably countless other practices unique to you and your family.
We might do these things out of habit. Or we might engage with them in intentional, mindful ways.
And of course, the more focus, meaning, and intentionality we bring to these moments, the more power they have to deepen our experience and transform it into something beautiful.
That holds true not just at the holidays, but throughout the year. So this seemed like a meaningful theme for us to engage with this month…
As we enter into the holiday season, it’s an opportunity to reflect on how to enrich and elevate our traditional seasonal rituals.
And as we head toward a new year, it’s a chance to reflect on and experiment with the role that ritual could play year-round for each of us in leaning into and living our own version of a Beautiful Life.
I’m looking forward to exploring this topic together and to the ideas and insights that emerge. Meanwhile, if you want to dig in right away, check out the following resources from the Joybook archives that connect with this month’s theme.
